SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL IMPACT

Project Kambaya

Project Kambaya is uplifting Monaragala’s women by turning waste into opportunity. In partnership with the UVA Provincial Council, this initiative upcycles discarded thread cones and plastic waste into durable industrial ropes used in construction, mining, and fisheries. This process reduces waste while creating sustainable jobs for underprivileged communities.

With five new centers opening, over 50 individuals will receive stable employment, earning LKR 22,500 in wages. Kambaya is not just about recycling, it’s about empowering lives and building a greener future.

Badulla Handloom Centre

In Sri Lanka, a rural area known for its geographical challenges, the Badulla Handloom Centre stands as a beacon of hope and innovation. Despite its remote location, this centre is transforming the lives of its artisans by turning post-industrial waste into beautiful, sustainable handloom sarees.

This impressive initiative, led by R&B, not only provides a source of income for the local community but also contributes to a greener planet.
